Shalom Y’all!
A couple of weeks ago, after our Kabbalat Shabbat service, someone approached me and remarked, “Well, rabbi, I guess it’s time for you to start writing again.” At first, I was taken aback…as I write all the time! However, after giving it some thought, I realized it has been quite a long time since I shared with the congregation some of my prayers/poems that I have written. Truth be told, I have been in a bit of a writer’s block for some time. Yes, I have written a few things here and there. However, the motivation I once had had been waning. Hearing the request, though, has given me a chance to reflect on what is truly important and what might help motivate me to write more. After all, the High Holy Days are coming up – and of course that requires quite a bit of writing!
