Shalom Y’all!
During my High Holy Day sermons, we discussed four different ways of defining holiness. We started with the idea of being “set apart,” not better, but unique. We moved to the Divine Presence, the Shechinah¸ which dwells within each and every one of us. Then, we confronted the sacredness in brokenness and repair. We stood together, aware of our failures, acknowledging we have broken promises – with the intention of taking our past mistakes and learning from them, moving forward together. The final definition reminded us of our enduring covenant, our Brit, with God.
